Tips For Party Hoppers
If party invitations are piling up and there’s no time to visit a beauty salon, then don’t worry… here are some quick tips from our expert. Whether you are a working woman or a housewife, the lack of time for elaborate beauty treatments can be a problem. If you do have the time, then go for a salon facial. That will deep cleanse the pores and make the skin look brighter. But do not forget that looking your best means not overlooking the minute details. Chipped nail varnish or untidy hair can spoil the Cinderella look that you have worked so hard to get. A little planning in advance goes a long way.
Make them all fall for you!
Give yourself a manicure and pedicure the day before the big night. After soaking the hands and feet in warm water, give them a massage with a rich cream, so that the skin is smooth and soft. For extreme dryness of the skin on the feet, it is a good idea to apply lots of cream at bedtime. Wear cotton socks and go to sleep. A good pick-me-up treatment for the hands is to rub them with sugar and lemon juice. Pay attention to details like waxing and threading at least a day in advance.
Add body to your hair
If your hair is looking dull, give it a quick conditioning treatment before your shampoo. Mix one teaspoon each of vinegar and glycerin with one egg. Beat them together well. Massage the mixture into the scalp. Then wrap the hair in a hot towel for 20-minutes, before washing the hair. Your hair will have more body and look shiny and manageable.
Indulge yourself
There is nothing like having a luxurious tub-bath before you start getting dressed for the party. Add any vegetable oil along with rose water to your bath water. It relaxes the body and your skin feels soft and smooth too. If you have a dry skin problem, apply a lemon-turmeric cream before your bath and wipe the skin with a moist towel after fifteen minutes.
All bright and glowing
A quick pick-me-up facemask can leave your skin clean and glowing. Mix almond meal with one teaspoon each of honey, egg white and yogurt. Apply it on the face and wash off with water after 20 minutes. Egg white can also be applied by itself. It tightens and clears the skin. For those with very dry skin, apply an emollient mask by mixing cream of milk with honey. Leave it on for half an hour and rinse off with water. It leaves the skin very soft and glowing. If you don’t have the time to mix and grind, a peel-off mask can add that touch of brightness to the skin. Remember to cleanse your skin before applying the facemask.
After applying the facemask, soak two cotton wool pads in rose water and use them as eye pads. Used tea bags also make good eye pads. Lie down and relax, while you have the mask and eye pads on. This is extremely refreshing and a great restorer of both body and mind. It will also help to remove fatigue and brighten the eyes. Once you rinse off the facemask, your skin will be ready for make-up.
