Beautiful Baby

December 24th, 2008

If you have given birth to a baby girl you should start looking after her beauty right from the time she is in her cradle, for the foundation of beauty is laid in childhood itself. Heredity gives a child the colour of her skin, the basic bone structure and the texture of her hair but the rest depends upon careful nurturing.

If your baby is born with dark fuzzy hair on her face, arms and legs, take 2 tablespoons of gram flour or besan, add a little turmeric powder and cream found on top of the boiled milk. Make into a loose paste and rub this paste gently on the baby’s body for a few minutes, then give her a bath. This will not only help remove the superfluous hair, but will also improve her complexion later on.

Beauty through the ages - the funky Seventies

November 3rd, 2008

Beauty in the Seventies took a definitive turn. Some of the styles and trends of the 60’s carried over but the decade also spawned new trends.
HairIn the earlier years, many women kept their hair long and smooth with just enough body and volume to give it some bounce, but the late 70’s brought about copycats who were seeking to capture at least a piece of that ”Charlie’s Angels” magic. The Farrah (Fawcett) layered haircut became the ”in” hairstyle as women with cuts of varying lengths spawned angel wings. Of course the cut meant a slight change in the way that hair was styled gone were the juice can rollers in favor of slightly smaller versions or, better yet, the suddenly popular curling iron, which along with hair mousse became a must-have part of every woman’s beauty kit.

Causes and Treatments for Crow’s Feet

November 3rd, 2008

Crow’s feet, laugh lines, and wrinkles, oh my! It’s not what we want, but time and nature play a nasty trick on us and, as we age, fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear around our eyes, radiating outwards. These are commonly known as crow’s feet or worry lines. Besides getting older, our everyday lifestyle can aggravate the problem and cause premature aging to our skin.

Sun exposure, frequent squinting, smoking, and even sleeping on your face promote the formation of crows feet. Naturally, people who spend a great deal of time outdoors are at higher risk. Applying sunscreen, quitting smoking, and wearing sunglasses and hats are the key ways to avoid crows feet. Even if you’re already showing signs, it’s never too late to stop them from getting worse.
