Ali Zafar—looks like he’s here to stay! After immense success in the fashion industry of Pakistan with his stylish walk on the ramp, Ali switched and tried his luck in the TV industry. He quickly rose to the top after his brilliant comedic performance in “Preeto” the captivating Abrar-ul-Haq video. It was all uphill from there, Ali shot to success with his appearance in TV commercials.
That was just the beginning; Ali soon landed himself a role in the Lahore based mega Tele-serial named ‘Lunda-Bazar’. After his performance as the character ‘Ramiz’ in ‘Lunda Bazar’, Ali Zafar was recognized as a polished and talented actor, not just a handsome face.

Hoooo… Channo ki aankh mein ik nasha hai. I thought I heard someone sing…dang, you hear it too, don’t you?
Resonating throughout Pakistan, USA, UK, and all around the world for that matter, the sudden Channo-mania has caused quite a hullabaloo, uproar, and frenzy. The man behind the mania, whose voice is often compared to Kishore Kumar’s, is none other than, painter/model/singer, Monsieur Ali Zafar.
We had a chance to meet up with Ali Zafar, who was in Karachi for a couple of days. Sammy kept singing, Ke huqqa paani…
“Arg! It’s stuck in my head!” Sammy hollered.

Ali Zafar’s Chanoo has proved itself a real party song. On New Year night , this song forced many to dance with its catchy beats. It remained in hot demand on Eid too. Now on Basant too this song would for sure remain in good demand. We wish Ali Zafar good luck and also hope that now he would also work on improving his vocals and coming up with some impressive lyrics.

The show got bigger this year. Not only did the organizers fly out to Dubai, giving the local entertainment industry much-needed international exposure, they also collaborated with a television network, ensuring a much wider audience than our local channels could ever pull off.
Indian talent, comprising professional dancers, stage designers and technical assistants, was flown in to fill the gaps, but this year’s Lux Style Awards could easily have been better executed than last year’s programme had the picture not been overexposed to the glitter and gaudiness of Bollywood. The India-based Sony TV channel, as director and producer of the show, was perhaps given too much freedom to project it as it wanted, right from the poster at the front desk down to the silver and gold tinsel on stage.
