John Abraham is the sexiest

November 1st, 2008

John Abraham is surely having the time of his life. While girls all over the country can’t stop drooling over his chiseled physique in the promos of Dostana, the actor has even managed to gain some popularity overseas.

John is the only Indian to feature in the ‘25 Sexiest Men’ list compiled by E! News(one of the largest and most popular networks in Hollywood).

What’s more in a special episode of the ‘Sexiest Men’ series, John has even made it to the elite Top 10 club where he features alongside soccer star David Beckham, actor Johnny Depp, rugby union footballer Dan Carter and Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers who starred in Bend it Like Beckham.

All Eyes On ABDULLAH

February 11th, 2005

Three reasons why Abdullah wouldn’t make a good model:[1.] he seems to be the product of non-indigenous genes. [2.] He has a laid back attitude towards PR in modeling. [3.] He sometimes deceives the viewer into thinking that he/she is looking at Farooq Mannan.

Firstly, If people cannot at some level relate to the face they see in the image, they will not buy into the fantasy of whatever he is so alluring advocating. Furthermore, shyly spurning diversification and trading fashion magazines and swanky celebrity soirĂ©es for textbooks and motorcycle joyrides is not the way to go about advancing a career hinged on media appearances and keeping up appearances. And finally, fashion is about change: people don’t want to see variations of the same face over and over again.

The trend of showbiz and sports stars being roped in by advertisers for shows because of the commercial value attached to them has been growing internationally. David Beckham has been immensely successful in increasing the sales of a particular brand of sportswear, while across the border, cola companies and diamond manufacturers have employed the services of stars to promote their products. This trend has also been catching on in Pakistan. Though we come across comparatively fewer commercials and live shows, still, this particular strategy is slowly picking up pace.
