Sharmeen Chinoy can bring Oscar to Pakistan ?

Pakistani journalist and documentarian Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s latest venture Saving Face has been shortlisted for Oscar nominations under the category ‘Best Documentary, Short Subject’.
Recipient of Emmy award for her documentary Pakistan: Children of the Taliban in 2010, Obaid is now hoping to make it to the Oscar nominations list which will be announced on January 24. The final awards will be announced on February 26, 2012.

The second smallest continent of the world, Europe plays host to people belonging to different cultures, speaking different languages and espousing different religious ideas. By embracing such religious and cultural diversity, Europe negates the theory of clash of civilizations.
These observations were made by the chairman of the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, Fateyab Ali Khan, at the opening of the first European documentary festival on Friday evening.
