What have you enjoyed the most in your three-and-a-half years of working life - acting, modeling or direction?
I don’t enjoy catwalk modeling. I had a very different impression of it earlier, but now that I have done it. I felt like beef in a cattle show. I admire the women who can model in this society. As for acting and directing, both have their own appeal. Normally, I like to work under pressure and my best work has been under stress. But, what I hate is acting and directing at the same time. I am a director’s actor and when I land up acting for my own plays. I feel at a loss. Handling a series like ‘Ambulance’ every week for instance, I know that I can always fall back on Angeline Malik if one of my actors doesn’t show up. But, it’s a matter of convenience - I know I won’t be able to perform.

Actors bring to mind a degenerate breed, who can do anything that shock you. Because everything about their lifestyle is meant to be shocking, so you kind of get blasé and immunized about it all. But meeting Adnan Siddiqui is like a collapse of all these illusions and preconceived notions about actors as hangin-loose dudes all about wine and women. I was completely thrown off-guard when Adnan took off on a completely different tangent from what actors were supposed to (in my limited knowledge) and revealed his true side to me.
Who is Adnan Siddiqui?

What is power? Who has it? How can you tell? These are questions that have no easy answers. Ask an assertive journalist, and you’ll hear a vehement dismissal of all glamour types and the list of powerful people whittling down to a stodgy industry bigwigs. Ask a starry-eyed showbiz fanatic and you’ll hear a bubbly eulogy for all the hot starlets who in reality would not even have the clout to wangle a solo project. So the dilemma remains.

Fuzon, a band of three multi-talented performers - Shafqat Amanat Ali, Imran (Immu) and Shallum Xavier - all filled with a passion for music, have merged their varying abilities,
creating some of the most promising sounds to come out of the Pakistani music scene. Their music is a reflection of today’s generation, a blend of the East and West. Fuzon has been lucky enough to hit all the right notes with their debut album Saagar.
Although tunes like Ankhon Kay Saagar, Teray Bina and Akhiyan are romantic and hummable, the self-titled songs in raagas like Khamaaj and the torrential Malhaar are definitely the cream of the lot.
