On June 19, the deserted Zaibunnisa street came to life when celebrities and media personnel arrived in hordes and struggled to find parking spots near Atrium Cinemas. All’s good for Lollywood — on paper

According to the documents available, some 18 films have been registered with the Pakistan Film Producers Association (PFPA) since the start of 2011.
However not a single Urdu or Punjabi film has been released so far. PFPA, a body which is responsible for registering film titles, has listed some high profile films including Oscar by Meera, Hum Nahi Hain Dehshat Gard by Chaudhary Rehmat Ali and Aman Ke Aasha by Hameed Alam, since January. Lollywood makes it to Saarc Film Festival

Lollywood has been floundering for a long time, but there is finally good news for the beleaguered industry! Two Pakistani films have been accepted for screening at the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) Film Festival starting from May 11 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The festival, to be held at the National Film Corporation Cinema Hall in Colombo, will conclude on May 15. All the member states are required to nominate two feature films. The top three films will be awarded at the end of the event.

Mehdi Hassan recovers in AKU intensive care unit

Legendary singer Mehdi Hassan on Thursday recovered after remaining unconscious for three days in the intensive care unit of Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi.

Reema visits Meera in hospital

Film actor, Reema was doing hospital rounds in a flurry of visits to high-profile patients in Lahore’s National Hospital the day before Eid.
Her first visit was reportedly to fellow film actor and dengue-victim Meera. Reema presented her with a bouquet and wished the national diva an early recovery.
