Ghazal King Mehdi Hassan hospitalised

Ghazal legend Mehdi Hassan has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Karachi after he had trouble in breathing, his son Arif Hassan said. The 84-year-old singer, the voice behind evergreen ghazals like ‘Ab ke bichade’ and ‘Patta patta boota boota’, has also stopped speaking. Hassan, who has been suffering from lung problems for the past twelve years, was last night rushed to Karachi’s Agha Khan hospital’s ICU section.

Mehdi Hassan recovers in AKU intensive care unit

Legendary singer Mehdi Hassan on Thursday recovered after remaining unconscious for three days in the intensive care unit of Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi.
According to Mehdi Hassan’s son Arif Mehdi, the singer woke up in the morning after three days.The 85-year-old ailing singer was brought to the hospital after suffering from a chest infection and kidney problem.
