India is expecting A R Rahman to bring home the Oscar. No wonder he is nervous
In the wake of Slumdog Millionaire, AR Rahman’s triumphant streak continues. And how!
This week, he walked away with the prestigious BAFTA (British Academy of Film & Television Arts) awards for his music in Slumdog Millionaire.
An exhausted but exhilarated Rahman said from London, “It came as surprise, not because I didn’t expect it but, because it was announced too soon. Mine was one of the first awards to be announced. I got it from one of ...

Rags-to-riches story “Slumdog Millionaire” continued its fairy-tale journey Sunday, winning seven prizes, including best picture, at the British Academy Film Awards and sealing its place as favorite for the Oscars later this month.
Kate Winslet and Mickey Rourke also gained Oscar momentum with acting wins — Winslet for her role as a former Nazi concentration camp guard in “The Reader,” Rourke for his career-reviving performance as a washed-up athlete in “The Wrestler.” Heath Ledger won a posthumous supporting actor award for The Dark Knight.”

There have been pretty serious accusations against one of the best films of year and India’s entry to the Oscars –’Taare Zameen Par’.
Sad and surprising but true.
The 69 year old veteran writer Shakuntala Devi who has authored 22 books says that a lot of the content in ‘Taare Zameen Par’ has been copied from one her books titled ‘In the Wonderland Of Numbers’.
