Abhishek’s 3D factor

September 23rd, 2008

Strange things happen in showbiz. And you don’t know how to explain it.

How do you explain the fact that Abhishek Bachchan’s next three films all have titles beginning with the letter ‘D’ - Drona, followed by Dostana and Delhi 6.

How do you explain the fact that last month Madhavan was shooting for two films simultaneously both beginning with the number ‘3′ - 3 Patti and 3 Idiots.

How do you rationalize the revival of interest in the supernatural? Eerie-fairies are flying around filmdom. The fur hadn’t even stopped flying over Phoonk - after a ceaseless string of homages to the underworld Ram Gopal Varma’s ode to the other-world.

Yes! I copy, says Ram Gopal Varma

September 10th, 2008

His last two films may have been trashed for being poor imitations of “Sholay” and “What Lies Beneath”, but Ram Gopal Varma confesses rather defiantly that he copies - “from everywhere”! “I copy from Hollywood films. Not only from Hollywood I also copy from Tollywood, Kollywood… in fact from everywhere. These days I am copying from news channels as I am zapped by their speed,” said the man whose last two films “Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag” and “Darling” were super duds in the box office.

Ram Gopal Varma is directing a music video

March 30th, 2004

Ram Gopal Varma is directing a music video featuring Usha Uthup for his forthcoming film Bhoot. The video supports an album that will feature the music inspired by the film.

Salim-Suleiman, Anand Raaj Anand and Amar Mohile composed a song each, of which two are now being made into music videos for television with Usha Uthup and Sunidhi Chauhan.

Ram Gopal Varma hopes to set the trend with film-inspired albums which he feels is beneficial not only to him, but also to the music companies.
