Open the curtains. To pull you out of you slumber, the first thing you should do when you wake up is open the curtains and embrace the sunlight. Keeping the curtains closed will leave your mind sleeping, aching for a couple more hours of z’s. Brightness equals wide-awake. Try it. It really does work.
Be thankful to be alive. Each day we wake up it really is a blessing. Each day is a gift, we should cherish it and do whatever is best. There is no time to fight with friends or be in a bad mood about something. Be happy!

Gia Ali - a name that spells trouble. An actress who ends up chasing more trouble than any other actress in the business. Wild. Wanton. Home breaker. Man-eater. One-hit wonder… All these allegations and a lot more resound whenever the name of Gia is mentioned; anywhere. But is she as bad as she has been painted? Let’s ask Gia.
You had to your credit one of the biggest hits of Pakistani cinema, Deewanay Teray Piyar Kay. But even its mammoth success didn’t have directors lining up at your door. Doesn’t this make you a one-hit wonder?

Forget the behind-the-scenes drama, the Zee Cine Awards in Dubai last weekend truly rocked. More than anything else, it made a genuine effort to cement the Indo-Pak relations further, which have been on an upswing in the recent times. Simply put, Bollywood and Lollywood were akin to the ambassadors of peace that night.
Hosting a majestic show not in India, not in Pakistan, but in a third country (Dubai, U.A.E.) and assembling the biggies of Bollywood (Big B, Dharmendra, SRK, the Roshans, Preity Zinta, Urmila, Sushmita Sen, Saif Ali Khan, Randhir and Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapur, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi) and Lollywood (Reema, Resham, Jawed Sheikh, Umar Sharif) was an effort in the right direction and the management of Zee deserves bouquets for it.

Lollywood super star Reema says she would like to marry a man who is compassionate towards others, is neither a spendthrift nor a miser. All the more, she said in an interview, she will choose a life partner who could keep her happy. She made it clear that so far she had not met the man having such qualities and did not know whether and when she would find him.
In her mid-twenties at present, Reema had started her career over a decade ago. Within that time she catapulted to prominence on account of her performance and compelling charm, outmatching all her rivals.

Well, well, well! Noor has decided to quit movies for good and restrict herself to only television.
Quite a surprise move considering that the gal has been active in the bright lights and dark alleys of Lollywood for simply ages - having started off as a successful child artiste and then graduating to adult roles of a heroine - though not really acquiring the stardom of her peers like Reema, Meera, Sana etc.

Meeting Mikaal was not easy, what with his many shoots, dramas, commercials and personal business. This hunk is busy, but FC got the opportunity to catch him at his leisure in Karachi where he had come to shoot for a private channel.
Mikaal in a candid tete-a-tete answers all the questions behind the veil about him.
So how was it that you entered show biz?
Kismat mein tha (grinning). Got an opportunity for a commercial and then felt that this is what I want to do or am meant to do, so I took it up.

Few, dare to be different. Especially, in an extremely conservative society. Even fewer, find acclaim in doing so. She’s one of them. Nabila. Rebellious and revolutionary. Known for defying conventions, Nabila’s ventured into uncharted terrain and walked her way to victory as Pakistan’s top hair stylist and make-up artist. Today, she’s a name well-regarded in the international fashion scene for her unique work.
For a person whose made her mark in the make-up business over an impressive 20 years, Nabila comes across as rather soft-spoken and unassuming. Pride is a thing that’s not on her palette. A rare virtue in the world of high-fashion, where people wear ego on their sleeve. She allows her work to speak for her. Work that’s visionary, and challenges all that’s in vogue. An attitude, that’s way ahead of times.

What is power? Who has it? How can you tell? These are questions that have no easy answers. Ask an assertive journalist, and you’ll hear a vehement dismissal of all glamour types and the list of powerful people whittling down to a stodgy industry bigwigs. Ask a starry-eyed showbiz fanatic and you’ll hear a bubbly eulogy for all the hot starlets who in reality would not even have the clout to wangle a solo project. So the dilemma remains.
