Tabu gets naughty with Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai

September 11th, 2008

In Ravi Chopra’s Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai, Tabu shall be playing a naughty lawyer. The acclaimed actress has never played a completely over the top sensuous character before and is excited to play the part in this Hollywood comedy, My Cousin Vinny’s Bollywood remake.

Our source informs, “Ravi Chopra managed to convince Tabu in playing a sexy character for his next, Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai. When she was first offered the part by him she had declined it. But after a lot of deliberation, Chopra managed to get the Namesake starlet going in for the role. The role requires Tabu to expose her body. But since the film is a comedy she won’t be presented in a vulgar manner.”

Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar

July 8th, 2004

Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar is best described as an offbeat drama with all the ingredients of a commercial potboiler but a somewhat over familiar storyline.

THE highlight of the film is Manoj Bajpai, as always he gives a hard-hitting performance, making director Hansal Mehta’s film an entertainer.

Ram Saran (Manoj Bajpai) is a naïve villager who comes to Mumbai with hopes of making it big. But what waits is a whole different story. The film takes a look at the dark side of life in the fast paced city of the stars. From being a simple mechanic, Ram Saran’s life takes the most unusual turns. Kamya (Tabu) plays a journalist and the romantic interest of Bajpai and Saurabh Shukla plays his friend Gaitonde.

Kandukondein Kandukondein

October 22nd, 2003

Rajiv Menon started as an ad filmmaker and continues to be one – despite directing movies like Kandukondein Kandukondein. But is it any good?

MENON began eyeing the big screen when he shot the brilliantly beautiful Bombay for Mani Ratnam and obviously thought he could do better. Well, we all know he couldn’t.

His first film, Minsara Kanavugal (even more atrocious as the dubbed Sapnay), was a self-indulgent cotton candy of riotous colours, inducing diabetes in the most hardy of cinemagoers. A lot of money sank with that first effort, but maybe it was (if you feel particularly generous) well spent, because Rajiv got a grip on himself and came up with Kandukondein Kandukondein (KK).

Saathiya

Special Appearances By: Shahrukh Khan and Tabu
Director: Shaad Ali
Music: A.R. Rahman
Lyrics: Gulzar
Screenplay: Mani Ratnam
Produced By: Kaleidoscope Entertainment
Released By: Yash Raj Films

Saathiya is a very light romantic drama, an old-fashioned story from the era of 70s & 80s where parents and social status used to come as an inseparable wall and the lovers usually have to run away from their homes and do secret marriages. The only so-called new or better thing shown is the real life drama which happens after the marriage. The ups and downs faced by the couple, is the interesting part of the movie which is the real essence of the whole story.

Shikari

June 19th, 2003

This Govinda/Karisma film takes you by surprise - devoid of the usual humour, vulgar jhatka matkas, nonsensical storylines and above all David Dhawan.

SHIKARI is an interesting mix of romance and suspense, and exploits Govinda’s talent like never before. The story begins with his character, Om being chased by the police. He manages to evade them and escapes for South Africa where he establishes himself as a wealthy businessman. Where he gets the money from is anyone’s guess…but then this is a Hindi film!
