And then we have small timer Veena Malik, who despite being neither here, there or anywhere on the filmy ladder, still has delusions of grandeur and is playing hard to get, thinking that by doing so she would show her worth to other producers, who would be running after her. Or could it be that she has finally realised that having failed to dent the local scene, should now try her luck abroad - particularly in Europe. Otherwise why else would this chit of a girl with no big projects and meaningful roles to boast off would suddenly disappear to Norway despite giving dates to the producer of Nag Aur Nagan.

Indian actress to pair opposite Pak superstar Shaan

Apart from contributing to the India-Pakistan cultural thaw, Indian actress Sheeba Bhakri has more reasons to feel happy and proud, reports IANS.

Happy because her first India-Pakistan multi-star film in Punjabi - “Pind Di Kudi” (village girl) - is complete and ready for release.

Proud because she has now been chosen to act opposite Pakistan film industry’s superstar Shaan in a Pakistani Punjabi film.

Being the first actress from India to be signed for a film in Pakistan, Sheeba has her plans worked out. “The shooting starts after Nov 14 and the schedule would be over in one month flat,” she said here Monday.

Veena in cross-border ’shooting’ as a Mirasi Girl

Sukhwant Dhadda, known for directing Ek Chaddar Meli Si and making a documentary on Nihangs, with a commentary by Khushwant Singh, is now shooting across the border, with a Pakistani actress doing the lead role.

The film Pind di Kuri is a love story based on the life of a Mirasi family. The heroine is Veena Malik. The hero’s role will be played by Sarabjit Cheema, a known Punjabi folk singer. His songs are listed in the Punjabi folk songs syllabi in many countries.
